It was a real game of two halves with the Arrows playing
better in the first (they could easily of been four goals to the good by half
time) but it ended 0-0. In the second half the Dynamos really grew into the
game and had the Arrows on the back foot – both teams at times threw caution to
the wind in terms of positional management and if we continue to do that it
will mean that both of these teams will get punished in the league. Back to
this morning though and the second half saw all the goals, with the result at
the final whistle being Arrows 2 – Dynamos 3.
I’m incredibly proud of all the boys – to think that we have
20 boys signed up and even more demand looking to come in, it shows that we are
doing the right thing. With the Dynamos we’ve kept positions fairly consistent
so the boys know that they will play in one, or max two positions and I think
it reaped benefits today. It was my intention to do this with the Arrows too,
but there are a couple of boys that can play in multiple positions so it hasn’t
quite worked out that way, however I’m going to go with this format now and see
if it changes anything.
The Arrows are suffering a bit with confidence but we’ve
been here before and need to bounce back quickly for the Shield next week as we
take on Upton Panthers (League 2 team) again.
The Dynamos just keep on coming at teams and are brimming
with confidence – let’s make sure we continue it. Details on next week’s match

Final note – I thought the pitch in Malpas was good today –
it took the boys a bit of time to get used to the new surface but I think it
played well. To have it all enabled us to really utilise the space effectively
and I’ve agreed that we can have the same deal again if needed in the future –
always good to know!
